  1. Full Data Query Action

Since Goverlan Agent is lightweight, it does not collect system information upon agent install. The only way to collect information about say new computer setups and store that data in the database is to run a scope action against it before deployment with the properties you wish to store.

The downside is that I don't know what properties I might need to query in the future so I would like to see an option in Admin & Diag menu as well as in Scope Action to run a full query and collect all of the information possible instead of having…

    • Scope Action jobs execute automatically when a workstation comes online

Every Goverlan user has run into this. You create a Scope Action and run it on your scope of computers and half of them are powered off or not available. So you're stuck in a constant battle to find these computers, plug them in, and re-run the job manually. Wouldn't it be much more functional if those computers simply "checked in" to a GCS or something and said, "Hey, is there some job or pending task that needs to run on me?" And if that computer was part of a previous Scope Action, then it would automatically run!

      This is…

I can see at least twice as many Actions in v7 as I can in v8.x without scrolling.

          • Set Quick Scopes in Admin & From Report Results

There are many times where I find myself wanting to run a scope action on a specific sub-set of computers. For example, since you cannot push a software package to multiple computers in Admin & Diag you have to make a Scope Action to do so. However, setting scope are not always easy to do or filter by.

It would be nice if when you select multiple objects in Admin & Diag, on the right click action that there was a "Save to Scope Template" action allowing you to specify the scope for a scope action that you would otherwise…

            • Organization of Scope Actions

I'm starting to amass a large amount of Scope actions and its getting pretty daunting to look at a find which ones I want. Granted, I can filter by columns including scope and type but that doesn't quite do it for me. I wish I could either change the view so that the rows are thinner except for the scope action that has been selected. That, or have different views like in Windows Explorer where you can go from Icon view (large and small) to detailed, etc. Grouping by column is nice but the headers are just so large that…

              • Drag\Drop jobs from scope action

Running jobs from Global Management on sets of systems, or individual computers can be a tedious process, as you have to go to properties, and set the scope to the computer you want, before running a job. The ability to drag a job to a computer, or OU in AD to set the scope, and start the job would streamline things, and be hugely helpful.

                • Add Last-Logon Timestamp Multi-DC property for Computer Objects

Currently the Last-Logon Timestamp property for computer objects only reads from one domain controller. Having a multi-dc option for this property would give the most accurate way of detecting stale computer accounts from Active Directory. We use this same multi-dc property for stale user accounts, why not just do the same for computer objects. It would be much more accurate than using the pwdlastset attribute.

                  • Migrate Scope Actions to new user

When you create a Scope Action, all of your individual items such as Scopes, Actions, Software Packages, Script Packages, etc. that you use inside your Scope Action are stored in your database.

BUT, the Scope Action file itself is not. This is a .GSA file stored under your local profile on your computer.

Our techs may have many dozens of Scope Actions they use.

When one of these technicians leaves employment, it would be extremely helpful if there was a way to 'migrate' all the existing Scope Actions to a new user account when a new tech is hired.

                    I…

                    • Remove Forced Reporting Fields

Running a report on Computer information includes fields you do not select (or usually want to see) such as "Computer Owner", "Owner Source", "Queried On"...
Please don't force columns in reports. Like all the other selectable fields, just make it another one we can add if we want. Manually removing them after they've already been created is not a good option.

                      • Additional Options to execute Windows Update Scope Actions

Right now I have a set of computers in which I am trying to do Windows Updates on, however, I do not want all of the updates installed. Currently, the only way to accomplish this would be to individually list the specific updates which for obvious reasons isn't ideal and doesn't cover all bases. Since you have the ability to install specific updates, it would be great to have an option to specify certain updates to block/hide to not install but install all other available updates. For example, I could specify all the Language Packs and Skype and it will…

                        • Offer the same account management features that you have for users accounts with machine accounts.

Offer the same account management features that you have for users accounts with machine accounts. For instance I need to add a group to the machine accounts on a large batch of machines. If these were users accounts I would be able to just use a scope action and be don. But with machine accounts there is no option for ad management.

I am trying to generate a report of Startup Programs that can be run several times a day in a bid to catch viruses and other malware before they can trigger. Is there was a way to compare the known startup programs against what is detected and only generate a report with the new startups?

                                    • Per-Scope Action Deployment Speed (not global)

Currently changing the speed a scope action runs at is a global change.

Some Scope Actions can be run really fast such as registry key changes, however software package deployments may need to run slower to avoid killing links to remote sites.

The ability to set the speed to each individual Scope would be very beneficial.

It would be nice if Goverlan could include A Dashboard that shows you the health of your servers. If servers is stressed (Drive space low, Memory low...) it will show it in Red. also can email you when server is low on health. This could do the same with PCs.

                                        • Scope Action Results in Body of Email Instead of Attachment.

Before I upgraded to GoverLAN 8 I had and Account Lockout Scope action that would run every morning and email the results. This used to have the results in the body of the email instead of an attachment. It was easy to the see the results on your smart phone.

Since migrating to GoverLAN 8 the results are only included as an attachment.

We prefer the results in the body of the email, is there any way to get this functionality back?
